"Lying is bad."
That's what they preach to inculcate good values since childhood. Yet, every now and then, child or adult, small or big lies, they all say it. I don't disagree to this preaching however, no one said a word about white-lies. On the other hand, we are taught to come up with such lies. White-lies are harmless they say.
"Andhe ko Andha nai bolte."
A famous teaching in Hindi, that's a lie right there. The justification to not call a blind man blind is, 'it's just a tactic to avoid hurting the person'. Not everybody needs a reality check they say. Stop wondering why the lie has been given the prefix of white, that dates back to the era of black and white where white was considered as pure and good and black was termed as evil.
Most common white lies:
1- Thank you! I love it - You cannot tell someone their gift or gesture sucked. Not that insensitive, Are you?2- You look perfect - You certainly don't want to face the wrath or rush of emotions.
3- Oh! Can I call you back? Mom's calling - Done that. I am sure you did too. When you badly want to say Shut the fuck up.
There are hundreds of examples. We are taught to lie I guess as early as when we are 3. Parents surely teach us the right words to be polite even if it means not calling some elder pathetic even when they are.
Lie but just know it won't backfire, ruin your worth or ruin someone else.
